User guide
BankRec is a product that shares and enriches account information to achieve automated bank reconciliation process. This guide will help you find the answers to some of the most commonly asked questions when using BankRec.
Navigation
This section describes the basic layout of BankRec.
Click Customer sign in at the top right and enter your username and password. The first time you sign in you will be asked to:
- Change the password. It is case-sensitive. Choose a strong password and keep it secure.
- Accept the Terms of Use.
On sign in, the Dashboard tab displays various quick-links to documentation and other portal pages.
The other tabs:
- REST API - Contains pages related to viewing and creating API keys, and whitelisting IP addresses.
- Users - Used by Administrators to invite and manage users.
At the top right of the page, the person dropdown menu provides access to:
- Profile - View your profile to update your personal details and security preferences.
- Sign out - Sign out of the BankRec portal.
Profile
The Accounts Profile page allows you to manage your personal profile. It is accessible by clicking on the person icon at the top right of the page and selecting Profile.
From here you can:
- update your personal details
- change your password
- change your security preferences

To return to the BankRec portal, click on the navigation dropdown at the top right of the page and select BankRec.
REST API
The REST API tab provides pages where you can manage your API keys and whitelisted IP addresses. Additionally, you can view REST API logs of requests made to the API in the test environment.
API keys
Create and view your API keys. This page will detail the list of keys available which is exposed in full when created but masked after this. These keys will show a status (enabled/disabled), expiry date, last used date, and an action to disable the key. API keys expire after 12 months and an email notification will be received for any keys nearing expiration.
API logs
To assist with the testing of your integration with the BankRec API, you can view REST API logs of requests made to the API in the Support (test) environment.
IP whitelist
View and whitelist your IP addresses.
Users
The Users tab is accessible by Administrators to invite and manage users on the BankRec portal.
Create a new user
To create a new user, click the Invite user button
Complete the details as follows for the user:
- Enter username
- Enter email address
- Enter your Password for security
- Click Invite
The user will receive an email to register for BankRec.
The User Invites page will display pending invitations, and provides the ability to resend an invitation email.

Editing a user's details
Users manage their own details. See Profile.
Resetting a user's password
For security reasons you cannot reset a password on behalf of a user.
If signed in, users can update their own password via the Profile page.
Otherwise, a user may reset their password on the Sign in page by clicking Having problems signing in? and following the steps (help with this process is available in the Accounts User Guide).
Enable/Disable a user
This procedure explains how to modify a user's access to BankRec.
- Click the username of the user you want to enable/disable. You can use the search box to find a user by username, name or email.
- The User details page opens.
- Click the Enable/Disable button.
- The Enable/Disable user modal opens.
- Enter your Password for security.
- Click the Enable/Disable button.
- The User details page opens displaying that the status has changed.
Please note, the system automatically locks out and consequently disables any dormant user accounts after periods of inactivity.
This applies as following:
- Dormant account lockout: 180 days
- Dormant account disablement: 540 days
